On behalf of the Third Street team, I am thrilled to announce that our very own Helen Speiser, the visionary founder of Third Street Digital, has been named as a Columbus Business First 40 Under 40 honoree for 2024! This prestigious award, now in its 31st year, recognizes emerging talent in our community, and Helen’s inclusion is a testament to her remarkable contributions to the advertising and marketing industries, as well as her unwavering commitment to our community. As someone who has had the privilege of working closely with Helen, I am incredibly proud to share a peek behind the curtain of her journey and celebrate this well-deserved recognition.

A Career of Dedication and Innovation

Helen’s career is a shining example of dedication, innovation, and leadership. With over 15 years of experience in the advertising and marketing sectors, she has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape. Starting her career at the Chicago Tribune, Helen quickly rose through the ranks due to her outstanding work ethic and strategic acumen, earning the Director’s Award for Work Ethic and Value Alignment in 2010.

When Helen moved to Columbus in 2012, she brought her expertise and passion for digital marketing to the Dispatch Digital team, where she excelled as a Digital Advertising Executive. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly in 2017 when she played a pivotal role in transforming WBNS Digital into a standalone agency, Pixelent Digital. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Helen’s resilience and vision led her to establish Third Street Digital in late 2021, a digital agency that prioritizes values, community, and client success.

Under Helen’s leadership, Third Street Digital has flourished, earning recognition as one of Central Ohio’s Top Startups & Innovators by Columbus Business First and achieving $10MM in revenue in 2022. Helen’s commitment to fostering a transparent and empowering workplace culture has been instrumental in the agency’s rapid growth and success.

Impacting the Community Beyond Business

Helen’s influence extends far beyond the business realm. Her dedication to community stewardship is truly inspiring, and she actively contributes to various non-profit organizations and local advocacy initiatives. In 2019, Helen co-created the impactful #CBusSeeUS campaign with Star House, Huckleberry House, and Kaleidoscope, raising awareness and funds for youth experiencing homelessness in Central Ohio. Her efforts led to the establishment of the Youth Homelessness Response Fund, which continues to provide vital support to this vulnerable population. Helen’s commitment to social causes is evident in her ongoing involvement with Star House Columbus, where she serves on the Board of Trustees and as Chair of the Development Committee. Her leadership extends to a past role with YES Columbus, a philanthropic community of women supporting Dress for Success Columbus, and the German Village Society, where she has made significant contributions to various community events and initiatives and serves as a member of its board.

As a passionate advocate for cancer research, Helen has also participated in the Pelotonia ride for many years, raising over $15,000 for life-saving cancer research. Her personal connection to the cause, as the daughter of a cancer survivor, underscores her dedication and drive to make a difference.

Recognizing a Multifaceted Leader

Helen’s accomplishments go beyond her professional and community engagements. She is a graduate of the 2019 Leadership Columbus Signature Program and an active member of Vistage, continuously seeking personal and professional growth. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes not only business success but also the importance of supporting non-profits and local advocacy initiatives.

In 2023, Helen launched the Pixie Partner Program, a quarterly initiative where Third Street Digital partners with minority-owned businesses, non-profits, or organizations with aligned values to enhance their digital strategy. Through this program, Helen has generously donated $20,000 in Third Street Digital services each quarter to help these organizations build a solid foundation in digital advertising.

A Well-Deserved Recognition

Helen’s recognition as a Columbus Business First 40 Under 40 honoree is a reflection of her exceptional leadership, innovative spirit, and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact. Her journey from the Chicago Tribune to founding Third Street Digital is a testament to her resilience, creativity, and dedication to both her profession and community.

On behalf of the entire Third Street Digital team, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Helen for this incredible honor.
