We’ve had the privilege of partnering with Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens for over a decade, helping create and place their annual advertising strategy and increase awareness and attendance for Conservatory events. The Conservatory’s mission is to create a world that celebrates nature as essential to the human experience. With experience at the forefront, we were ecstatic when a new, interactive Snapchat placement was offered for us to test.

Franklin Park Conservatory has been bringing people and plants together since 1993. In Columbus, they’re the go-to destination for a date night, birthday, engagement, wedding, or simply beautiful photos. Once you’ve been to The Conservatory, you think of it any time you’re looking for something to do. With their daily events and annual membership, it’s easy to go back multiple times and have a completely different experience.

But what if you’re not from Columbus? What if you’ve never had your first Conservatory experience, so you’re not aware of their endless events?

The Conservatory aims to be a go-to destination for generations to come. We’ve made our strategy evolve over the years to incorporate different advertising platforms that will focus on not only reaching Gen Z and younger audiences but also engaging with them before they even visit.

We were approached by Snapchat in 2023 about running AR Filters for Franklin Park Conservatory in 2024. These special ads would expand The Conservatory’s reach beyond the pre-capture Lens Carousel we’ve historically run around Conservatory events, like Pumpkins Aglow and Conservatory Aglow.

Partnering with The Conservatory, we were able to create our “Crown of Orchids” augmented reality creative, along with a “Buy Tickets” call-to-action for their Orchids exhibition. The filter was used over 800 times and was recognized nationally by Adweek, Mumbrella, PRWeek and Campaign Magazine.

At Third Street Digital, evolution, education, and creativity are at our core. We look forward to the coming years of testing new, innovative tactics with Franklin Park Conservatory!
